Green and Pleasant Land: a crisis in the countryside?

Because of the shift in climate the nature of Britain is changing rapidly. Because of the last 12 months of extreme climate changes, the wildlife is not used to, there have been a lot of radical changes: 2012 was the worst breeding year for birds, 70% of the bugs are gone and only 2% of the wildflower meadows are left. One scientist says that the balance of nature is being thrown off because of the climate. But finally a scientific report is being made with all the climate changes in Britain to appeal to the government to take action.

My opinion:

To be honest, I didn’t think that the climate changes were as “radical” as the scientist in the clip were telling us, so I had no idea about all of this changes. Which is quite understandable, they say this in the clip as well, because of the economic crisis overshadowing most of the news and the political discussions nature is kind of getting the wrong end of the stick. It does sadden me to see that for instance the hedgehogs are actually disappearing from wildlife because of the harsh winters and it just leaves me hoping that something can be done.
